CORE is a multidisciplinary team of research, evaluation, and assessment experts with a combined 40+ person years experience. CORE provides expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, grant writing, evaluation plan design, STEM learning and teaching research.

Diane Jass Ketelhut is a professor of STEM education with the College of Education at the University of Maryland College Park. She is the Director of the Center for Science and Technology in Education at the University. Her research focuses on improving self-efficacy (in computational thinking and science) and learning through scientific inquiry experiences within immersive environments, and is across all grades and ages, student and teacher.

Diane has been PI or Co-PI on over $10 million in funded projects from the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and the Department of Education. She has also served as a consultant or external evaluator on a dozen projects, funded regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Diane holds a Doctorate in Learning & Teaching from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and previously served as a classroom teacher in multiple states for 15 years.

On the CORE team, Diane brings expertise in design and analysis of curriculum, professional development, and teacher education, with a particular focus on technology integration.

Shane Tutwiler holds a Doctorate in Human Development & Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is an associate professor of Learning Foundations at the University of Rhode Island. His research focuses on the exploration of learning and attitudinal change of students via longitudinal quantitative models and the use of applied Bayesian analytic methods.
Shane has helped to co-PI, analyze data from, and evaluate over $5 million in funded projects from organizations such as the NSF, IES, and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Brian C. Nelson is a professor of STEM education with the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. His research focuses on the theory, design, and implementation of immersive learning and assessment environments.
Brian has been PI or Co-PI on over $6 million in funded projects from the National Science Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation.
Brian holds a Doctorate in Learning & Teaching from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
